Movie
Night
February 26
Join us on February 26, 2012 at 5:30 pm for Sunday Night at The Movies! We
will be showing “Young @ Heart” in the sanctuary, complete with popcorn and
drinks! Young @ heart is a wonderfully directed documentary on a chorus of
senior citizens from Massachusetts who cover songs by Jimi Hendrix,
Coldplay, Sonic Youth, and other unexpected musicians. They ROCK the
house!!!
Do You
Like To Cook
We are looking for a few more CCC Chefs! If you enjoy
cooking for large groups, we have JUST the cooking
experience for you! We need a few more cooks for Wednesday
Night Live dinner. Generally, you would be cooking for 30 –
40 people; you do the shopping, cooking and cleanup. Dinner
is served at 6:00 pm. If you are interested, please give
Charla Shobe a call at 817.335.3222 for further information.
Cancer Survivors' Group February 28th

Senior's Luncheon February 14
When: Tuesday, February 14, 2012 Where: Fellowship
Hall
Time: 11:30 am
What: Senior’s Valentine’s Day Luncheon It is hard
to believe, but 2012 is here and just around the
corner is the Senior’s Valentine’s Day lunch. If you
are a senior and would like to attend this very
special lunch please write
“Valentine”
in the
red book as it is passed down the row. We would like
to have as many seniors to attend this year as we
can. This is always fun for the staff to serve you a
specially prepared lunch to help celebrate the date
of “love”. Yes, we love our seniors! We look forward
to seeing all of you for Valentine’s Day!
Shrove Tuesday February 21
Lent begins next month and in our Celebration Family
Tradition, we will have Shrove Tuesday – February
21, 2012 beginning @ 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Our
Celebration Ringers will be flipping pancakes so
come join us for all the pancakes you can eat!
Shrove Tuesday is also called Fat Tuesday (in
French, Mardi-gras "fat, as in 'pate de foie gras'',
which is liver paste and very fatty). Shrove Tuesday
is a day for using up ingredients to make treats
that many will give up during Lent. Since pancakes
are a standard way of using up fat, the day is also
called Pancake Tuesday. In England, and perhaps
elsewhere, the day is celebrated with pancake races.
Ash Wednesday February 22
Our Ash Wednesday Service will be on Wednesday,
February 22, 2012 beginning at 7:00pm. For fourteen
centuries the season of Lent has been a time for
self-examination and penitence in preparation for
EASTER. The name comes from the Saxon lengten-tide,
referring to
the lengthening of the days and the coming of
spring. This forty day period of abstinence recalls
the fasts of Moses, Elijah, and Jesus, all of which,
according to scripture, lasted forty days. Dinner
will begin early on this day at 5:30 pm and we
invite you to join us afterwards for our Ash
Wednesday Service held in our sanctuary at 7 pm.
Come join us as we begin our journey to Easter!
Caregivers
Support Group
For those of you who are helping support a loved
one, spouse or partner through a difficult illness,
surgery recovery or other long term health issues,
we want you to know there is support for you, too.
There is a meeting on Monday, January 30th. However,
the “Caregiver’s Support Group” will then meet on
the first and third Mondays of each month. If you
are interested, please sign “Caregiver”
in the red book as it
is passed down the row. Thank you.
